Project Overview
This project, jointly published by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MOEFCC) India and WWF-India, is the result of decades of collective experience from Forest Department officials across several states, all aimed at reducing Human-Elephant Conflict (HEC). The Field Manual is carefully designed into sections that provide varying levels of detail, allowing Forest Department staff to access the precise information they need. It also includes navigation guides to help users assess the necessary actions for specific situations, promoting both human well-being and elephant conservation. To ensure its broad applicability, the manual has been translated into multiple languages, offering a coherent and systematic approach to tackling HEC.
